The Cat in the Hat visits Broadway Academy - Cleveland
In celebration of children’s author Dr. Seuss’s birthday, Broadway Academy is hosting a special visitor. The Cat in the Hat will arrive at 8:00 am on Thursday, March 6, 2014.
All kindergarten through 8th grade students at the school on East 55th Street will participate in the day’s activities which are designed to get children excited about reading. During his visit, The Cat in the Hat will read stories to children from a collection of Dr. Seuss classics and will even join children during their lunch time.
Area preschoolers have been invited from local preschools to join in the fun and visit with the famous costumed character. Bruce Henson from Learn it! said, “We’ve got stickers, erasers and pencils as prizes for kids and during the visit, students will participate in Dr. Seuss themed crafts.” School Principal, Mr. Richards said, “The school looks amazing, it’s completely decorated in the Dr. Seuss theme thanks to our art teacher, Mrs. Weidus. The school has been transformed to Dr. Seuss Land.”
During the month of March, all 15 of the Academies schools will be participating in the celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
